AIPR — The AI Process Rating

Not all AI is the same — but right now, audiences can't tell the difference. AIPR is a standardized rating that shows exactly how AI was used in a creative work, from assistive craft tools to fully generative. Check your practices, get your rating, share it with your audience.

Best used on a computer — not optimized for mobile.

Selected practices will be listed here automatically.

Check every practice used in making the work. In the assistive half, your most generative practice sets the pointer. Past the line, it takes generative use across multiple crafts to move further right — the far end means everything was prompted.

Production practices

Check everything that applies to the finished work. Each practice sits at a fixed position on the spectrum — the small marker shows where. The highlighted practice is the one currently setting your rating.

The checklist requires JavaScript. If this message persists, your Squarespace plan may be stripping scripts from code blocks (JavaScript in code blocks requires the Business plan or higher).

How the pointer is computed. In the assistive half, the rating equals your single most generative practice — practices at the same level confirm the rating, they don't stack. Past the center line, breadth takes over: each discipline (visuals, audio & music, writing, performance) contributes only its own most generative practice, weighted by how much of the experience it carries. One generative discipline lands you just past the line; the far end of the scale is reachable only when every discipline is generated from a prompt. The center line itself marks one principle: AI that transforms material humans made stays assistive; AI that originates material the audience sees is generative.
